Coach Kidd announces that after school practice will not begin until after Thanksgiving in accordance with UIL rules.
Carlos G. discussed the need for many volunteers for the upcoming year as there are open positions for key booster club events. Several of the positions were held by parents of graduating seniors who will not be participating this year. Sign up sheets were made available for the open positions for those in attendance. The Spaghetti dinner which is held in early January needs a leader to organize this kickoff event.
Coach Mc Bride commented that a new Governor’s Cup director will be needed for the women’s event as the director for last year is not returning.
The topic of new game day shirts was presented. The concept is for the teams to wear a soccer style jersey with the school G on the chest and yet to be developed soccer crest on the sleeves to replace the black polo shirts. The idea was well received and asked to be pursued further.
Changes are being made to
the school’s soccer website. The goal is to have the school site
highlight the teams and players while providing a link to the booster club
site. We hope to provide something similar to the Westwood site which has
been the benchmark for quite some time. The booster site would list
upcoming events and provide parents an opportunity to give us their email
address so they can be contacted on volunteering opportunities.
The meeting came to closure at 8:10.
